Traditional Rural Garden
Burley in Wharfedale
A steep and unusable garden has been remodelled and divided into a lower dining patio and upper planting zone. An arduous job with over 60 tons excavated before commencing any building work.
Salvaged stone was used to build the large retaining wall, helping to gain back much needed space. A winding stairwell linked the upper and lower levels then flowed into a rockery bank. This grounded the garden and played host to lots of groundcover and low growing perennial plants.
